Oh, how I love camping season!
As I was going over my summer recipes, I decided to make a thread here for grilling and campfire recipes.
We all know the standard camping & grilling recipes, Hot dogs, Hamburgers, Brats...etc, but we go camping way to much to eat the same things over and over. So I'd like to share some of our favorites, and have you share yours.

Camp Out Potatoes

-Washed, sliced potatoes (round)
-Butter
-Onion slices (round)
-Season salt
-Aluminum foil

Put about 8 to 12 potato slices on foil. Top with a few rings of onion. Add butter over that and then sprinkle with Season salt to taste. Fold up so foil is now like a closed package.
Throw on the campfire, or grill. Depending on the amount of heat....about 10 to 20 minutes.

PostSubject: Individual eggs without the mess.   Camping Recipes Icon_minitimeTue Apr 06, 2010 11:19 am

When you go camping as much as we do, with as many people as we have (usually 8 - 10), the goal is to make cooking as simple as possible if you don't want to spend your whole trip cooking meals, and cleaning up.

Three want their eggs scrambled with cheese.
Three want green onions, cheese, and tomatoes.
Two want only cheese and tomatoes.
That's a lot of messy bowls and pans....until we learned this trick.

You will need:
-Ziploc bags
-Eggs
-Salt & Pepper
-Add In's (green onions, tomatoes, cheese, etc.)
-Pot
-Water

Fill your pot with water and get it boiling.

-Meanwhile give everyone a Ziploc bag and let them break open their eggs into the ziploc bag.
-Let them add their favorite add ins right into the bag with the eggs.
-Add the salt and pepper.
-Lock the bag, and using your hands, smoosh it all up from the outside.
-Throw bags into the boiling water, and wait until done.

No seperate bowls to clean, no extra pans, and a lot of time saved.
