This isn't really a recipe. For a change of taste instead of your usual saltine crackers with chili top your chili with shredded cheese and then Fritos on top of that. It is sooooo good. LOL Calories and cholesterol don't count! lol

Sounds like a recipe to me. lol

Yummy

This thread is a good place for other recipes like Pizza, nacho's, and other yummy stuff that just doesn't fit into a specific category.

PostSubject: Peppermint/Aloe refresher   Tue Jan 05, 2010 12:29 am

Peppermint Oil - Aloe Vera Gel

This refreshing gel, “wakes up” your body
when applied (in small to medium amounts)
to the back of your neck. It can also be
applied to your wrists, inside the bend
of your arm, on your stomach, to the
low back, to the back of your knees
and/or to the arches of your feet.
But not all at one time! The results can be
felt within 10 minutes after application and,
it can be used up to 4 times per day.

Recipe:
2 tablespoons - clear “Aloe Vera Gel “
15 drops - “Peppermint Oil

PostSubject: Valentine's "Bark"   Wed Feb 10, 2010 2:48 am

WHAT YOU NEED:
2 pkg. (6 squares each) BAKER'S White Chocolate (or other white choc.)
3 drops red food coloring

TO MAKE IT:
MICROWAVE each package of white chocolate in separate medium microwavable bowl on HIGH 2 minutes or until white chocolate is almost melted, stirring after each minute until chocolate is completely melted.

STIR red food coloring into one bowl of melted white chocolate until well blended. Alternately spoon the white and tinted chocolates onto wax paper-covered baking sheet or tray. Tap baking sheet on table to evenly disperse the chocolate. Swirl white chocolate with knife several times for marble effect.

REFRIGERATE 1 hour or until firm. Break into pieces.

NOTE - The picture showed this tucked into cellophane (or perhaps those heart doiles) in a red cup with a pretty valentines ribbon on the the handle.

If I make this, I may try putting almonds or candies walnuts into it or flavoring into the chocolate, like peppermint or strawberry or rasberry? I wonder if dried fruit would work? HVD!

Ok, didn't end up making the bark (how did yours turn out?) but I did try to make red velvet cake. Well, it isn't exactly red, but oh well, I ran out of red food coloring - it takes a lot!

Here was the experiment - combine a chocolate cake recipe that uses creme cheese (which I'm allergic to) with cool whip and pudding as a substitute. (note for the future, use instant pudding mix, not pre-made pudding cups).

The result, not bad - actually a kind of dense but springy, chewy, soft brownie type of cake was created.

I cut both round pans (separately) into individual heart shapes and coated the pieces with melted white chocolate and topped with a red heart.

No sugar for me today - I'll need to save up for tonight! Cheers!

Here's my recipe:
I - box Betty Crocker Gluten Free chocolate cake mix
(it uses 3 eggs, 1 stick butter, 1 cup water)
3 little containers pre-made "sugar free" chocolate pudding
1/2 container "sugar free" cool whip
1 small vial red food coloring
Mix and bake 350 - 45/50 min
Cool completely, and cut into heart shapes with large cookie cutter

Icing: 1/2 package white chocolate chips, 1/4 cup cream or milk, pat of butter, 1/4 cup water. Microwave 1 minute to melt and stir until smooth and liquid (heat 10/15 seconds more if needed). Spoon or pour onto cakes and top with red heart (see below)

Red Hearts: Using a mold (pre-formed little hearts, found at Michael's) melt 1/4 package of red heart pellets (Michael) and pour into molds - put into fridge until solid and then pop out like ice cubes. Knock or slice off any excess and place onto cakes as eatable decor.
