Hello!
Boy, that is indeed the most thought provoking analysis that I have heard lately. So very true. I just learned that I don't think of my bible near enough. But it's true. We depend on and carry around these 'lifesavers' like our cell phones, pda's, even laptops, every where we go while our bible (in lots of cases) lay on our mantle or nightstand and remembered when we go to bed and see it there or when we light the fireplace and see the bible perched there.
If I can be totally honest here (ashamedly though) If I spent as many times opening my bible and using it as I do my laptop then I would be able to read the entire bible in one week. Which means that by now I would probably know it all by heart, just like I know where each document, game and program is on my laptop. I know my laptop inside and out. Yet I have never, not once, read the entire bible. I no longer even remember the exact order of the books of the bible like I used to.
It's really hard to admit this, but it's true. Shame on me! In fact, things were so busy and out of whack that I lost alot of bible time doing other things. I just skipped it, knowing it will be there later. Before I knew it had been months since I had picked up my bible except to dust under it.
This comes as good timing and I consider it a direct message to me. I have been doing better the last 2 weeks. I have read my bible or an online bible passages or study every day for the past two weeks now. I'm getting back to my routines. I did not realize how far away I had put my bible. It seemed like only a few days but it had been much longer.
I kept saying and thinking that when I got this done or got caught up here and there that I would get back to my bible studies because I would have more time. YEA RIGHT!
If I wait until I have time to read, study and pray...I would never do any of them. Instead, I will read, study, pray and do everything else when I get the time. lol.
Sounds crazy but if I put that first, Jehovah will provide time for all the rest of the worldly stuff we must do.
Ok, Mohala...message received. lol
Thanks. I needed that.
